Established in 1927 by a group of retailers in Alberta, Associated Grocers had a modest start in meeting the needs of it co-operative group.
Over the years the company has expanded and evolved to service the needs of a rapidly changing and competitive grocery wholesaling environment and retail landscape.

Associated Grocers was purchased in 1989 by the Jim Pattison Group of Companies and is today a division of Pattison Food Group Ltd. and the leading wholesale grocery supplier in Western Canada to over 650 Independent Grocers.
